A Bedroom Ready for Spring

Good morning everybody. It has certainly been a while since the blog has seen some love. I’ve been busy at work & then I got poorly but now the half term week is ahead of me and I have time to sit down and give you a little tour of our new zhuzhed up master bedroom *contains some gifted items and affiliate links

I feel I need to give you a bit of a backstory to this blog. Over the past couple of years, the interior of our home has been on a bit of a journey. Finding what was really ‘us’ has taken a long time. I’m definitely guilty of having made interior design decisions based on what I saw other creator’s doing. Whilst it’s good to gather inspiration from others, if it isn’t right for you and your space, don’t do it. We always loved the idea of a neutral, minimalistic home but in reality, it just isn’t for us – I say we, but I think Mr RV has given up now 🤣

Let’s start with our new art work. Here’s a break down of it all: the two prints above our bed are custom made from Post Printum* & they are just so beautiful. The neutral tones are perfect. I then ordered some more colourful and less safe prints which we both really liked. I actually found these over on eBay which is such a great place to look for affordable prints. We had all of these frames already so the only added cost was for the prints 👌🏼

Next up, bedding and textiles. The bedding is from The White Company, striped cushions are from Vinegar Hill and the green cushions are from Cox & Cox. The floral pillowcases are a recent purchase from Dunelm. The throw is from Ottomanmaison* which is such a pretty colour for spring. I think the hardest part about styling a bedroom is the textiles. I mean, I have underbed storage dedicated to spare cushions and covers – anyone else? 🙋🏽‍♀️ For anyone wondering, the dark blue bedding and cushions that we had for our ‘winter bedroom’ are now on our spare bed.

Decor. This is when we realised the minimalistic lifestyle just wasn’t for us. We love books, plants, trinket dishes and candles and we wanted to inject more personality and colour into our home. Here are the smaller details: this plant is one I picked up in Homebase recently which I popped into this gorgeous pot 🌸 The marble bookend is from Homesense, the bedside lamps are from Habitat & the candle is from Iggybox. I have linked it all for you below. My jewellery box is eBay and my shell trinket dish is Ikea 🐚 I have linked all the books below too 👇🏼
